A BRIEF PAUSE

Things aren't quite the same these days,
The sun doesn't seem as bright;
It seems like morning will never come,
And there's altogether too much night!

I used to rush right home from work
'Soon as the work-day was done...
You wonder WHY I would hurry home?
To be with "Little One"!

"Little One" was her C.B. 'handle',
But Donna is who she was.
We'd often talk of why we loved
And decide, "Oh, Just Because"!

But if I'd list the reasons
Why I loved my little wife,
I think I would have to continue to write
For the rest of my natural life!

Oh, she wasn't perfect...God Forbid!
I couldn't have lived with that!
So many of MY faults SHE overlooked...
Yes, even when I got fat!

We've had some years together now..
Over twenty, to share our life.
But now, we'll take a "Brief Pause"...
Because Jesus has called my wife.

Yes, He's called her to a better place
Where I know the 'SON' she'll see...
I'll live out the rest of my days,
Then again Darling, you'll be with me.
