GOD'S EYES, OR MANS

I mentioned in an earlier poem
A commitment had to be there.
Plus a 'one on one' situation
Before I could deeply care.
 
·         I believe also that both should pray
That this union the Lord will bless.
And live the life a Christian should,
To overcome 'Ol Satans' tests.
 
Well, I find myself caring very deeply
For a very fine young lady I know.
We would like very much to make a team
Of Pink Champagne and Papa Joe.
 
There seems to be a snag though,
But we'll try as hard as we can,
To live as the Lord would have us do
And to satisfy the 'Rules of Man'.
 
Words written on paper, by man
Don't necessarily a marriage make.
It takes a loving commitment from both,
And when violated, a marriage can break.
 
When this has happened the Lord informs us
We have the right to stop, and start over again.
We pray it's founded on mutual love,
Instead of the written word of men.
 
Well, WE have committed ourselves, one to another
Pink Champagne, and Papa Joe.
Now we wait to follow 'man's law...
And be married, and let the world know!
