HALF A POEM

It’s late at night, and the house is quiet,
That’s really nothing new, as such;
Because, by this time Mary would be in bed,
And I’d be involved in computing very much.

But tonight is different, very different indeed.
I’m sitting here at the computer for sure,
But the thing that makes it so different tonight,
Is I’m alone here, .. lonely without her.

Mary’s not well, she’s in the hospital,
While I sit here tonight, writing this.
There’s a different, strange type of quietness,
It makes me realize how much she is missed!

We’ve not been apart much since our wedding day,
And as I sit here writing this, alone...
My ‘better-half’ is not here with me;
That’s why this is called “Half A Poem”.

P.S.
I pray the Lord will heal you soon,
So you can hurry home.
YOU are the part that’s missing tonight.
YOU’RE the other half Dear, of this poem!

                               I Love You!
