“HEY, YOU TWO!”

There are guys named Don and gals named Pat,
And I’ve met a few of each, in my time.
But the Don and the Pat that this is about
Are SPECIAL people, we’ll talk about in rhyme!
 
Our interests are similar, in a variety of things,
Sharing them prevents becoming bored;
HE likes old cars and I’M a photo-nut,
But we share a COMMON interest in the Lord.
 
That’s how I met Don, over a decade ago,
Shortly after my Spiritual Rebirth.
I knew then and there, we would be friends;
The LORD makes the best choices on earth!
 
Yes, HE crossed our paths, it was all in HIS plan,
We’ve experienced a lot with one another.
We’ve shared heart-aches and joys, and routine living,
And through the LORD, he’s become my true brother!
 
The old saying goes that ‘Blonds have more fun’,
But, about that claim I’ll tell it true:
NO blond ever enjoyed a friendship more
Than WE have, Don and Pat with YOU!
 
The Lord’s coming soon to gather HIS own,
We all certainly agree on that!
If you keep treating us to all that good food,
HE’LL need a wench to lift up MY fat!
 
We share another common interest now,
In addition to our love for the Lord.
I bought a machine, and YOU did too;
We can now DOUBLE video record!
 
Well Don... I was blessed with Mary
And you married that sweetheart, Pat.
NO material blessings on this earth
Could make two men happier than that!
 
Well HEY! You Two!, in case you haven’t guessed,
Mary and I just want to express;
We’ve each had friendships of our own,
But DON and PAT, .. YOUR friendship is the BEST!
