HIS FLOWER GARDEN

I need to get it down on paper,
It seems there’s so much I want to say.
I know I’ll never get it all down;
But I’ll give it a sincere try, today.

It needs to be said right now..today.
For who knows what tomorrow might hold?
The rainbow I’ve traveled has been a fruitful one,
I feel so close to that pot of gold!

I feel like singing praises to the Lord,
I’m so thankful, for Your gift of life!
I thank You for the children I have,
And for Mary, my precious wife!

I thank You Lord, for putting-up with me,
And watching over all of them.
Each time I fell flat on my face,
You said, “Get up, and try it again”!

But You never gave up, thank You for that.
I never would have put up with ME!
Thanks to Your never-ending patience and grace,
I’ll sing Your praises through eternity!

I see the trees getting green again,
And the grass is healthy and green.
What a contrast the landscape is right now,
From winters drab and dreary scene!

I’m beginning to comprehend it now,
Your ‘new-life’ philosophy is so clear;
Unless the ‘old-seed- withers, and dies,
There’s no ‘new-growth’, in the coming year.

No one leaves a dried-up old flower
On display, their house to adorn.
Instead, they wait for the seed from this flower
To replace the old, when it’s ‘re-born’.

I understand now Lord, Your infinite plan,
Replacing the old flower, with the new.
The flower garden You have in heaven
Is hand-picked, to glorify YOU.

Well, that’s the way that it should be,
You are worthy of all our praise,
Help me to love and to serve You
For the rest of my remaining days!
