SOMEDAY, MAYBE

Someday maybe, we’ll take the time
To finally give it some thought,
About what’s going on around us,
About WHAT in life, we’ve really ‘bought’.
 
In the ‘Natural self’, we MUST explain
How each and everything works.
We feel compelled to understand the system,
And be able to explain all those quirks.
 
But what IS the ‘natural self’?
Do we really understand?
The ‘natural self’ would seem to be
Just what makes sense to man!
 
We need to di-sect, and analyze,
Every activity into fact.
‘Till we’re smart enough to predict results
From each and every act!
 
But when we’ve finally reached that point,
And begin to think we know it all,
It may be wise to reflect a bit
On what’s called, Mankind’s Fall’!
 
Adam and Eve, they hit that point,
The enemy sold them a LIE!
Because they bought this bill of goods
They learned someday they’d die!
 
OK, Death is a fact of life,
I think most agree this is true.
But ‘Someday Maybe’, we’ll wonder
“After life, is ther more for you?”
 
The natural self says, “live it up”,
To “enjoy it while we can”.
But remember now, the natural self
Is just the opinion of MAN!
 
Someday Maybe, we’ll wonder:
“Are all those facts true, from men?”
What if there IS life after death,
Who will we turn to .. then?
 
It may be wise to consider this:
We were created by a Higher Power.
HIS word tells us to study it well,
That this could be the DAY and the HOUR.
 
Are we willing to trust man’s intellect,
And to go only with what is ‘mod’?
Or SOMEDAY MAYBE, we’d be wiser,
To search the WORD of GOD.
