STAGE OF LIFE

I don't pull the strings, and I didn't write the script
To this production that we call LIFE;
But I find myself now, involved in 'Act Two'...
Scenario:  Me .. without wife.
 
It's not a role I would have chosen,
This part, without a partner.
But the Great Scriptwriter has decreed for me
To press on through life, without her.
 
At some point in life we must each decide
WHO’S script we will actually follow.
Some years ago, I made that choice
To live by what HE will allow.
 
It's not easy, letting go of the reigns,
When being human we have a strong will.
Humanly speaking, we want what we want,
And nothing else will fill the bill!
 
But I've seen so often, as in the past,
How wrong, just MY will can be.
That's why I'll follow HIS will for Act Two,
And, if there is one, even Act three!
 
Oh, we all have our inside desires,
That's a natural part of 'Show-Biz';
But the thing that'll make the Finale worth while
Is that we let OUR will align with HIS!
