THE SAME SONG

Jeannie, are we each hearing the same song?
They seem to have different beats.
I follow the one I hear loud and strong
And it gets louder when you and I meet!
 
The Main Drummer that we each claim to know
Does not broadcast songs of confusion.
I think one of us, which one could it be?..
Is 'living-out'...a sad delusion.
 
There seems an abundance of 'self-made' thoughts,
That we expound on, to meet our needs.
I can suggest something that'll solve it all:
Let's earnestly open the Bible, and read.
 
IF our hearts and minds are open to HIS word,
Those tunes will eventually blend.
Because our hearts will hear HIS message,
Instead of the messages of men!
 
I believe that the time we spend together
Can be good, for you and me..
But I think we both need to hear the same song,
Jeannie, .........don't you agree?
